Revered political analyst, Mutahi Ngunyi, has warned Deputy President William Ruto against being hasty in his quest of becoming the country’s fifth President of Kenya.
Through his popular online channel The Fifth Estate , Mutahi compared and contrasted Ruto to ODM Party Leader, Raila Odinga, saying the ODM leader is impatient and that is why the Presidency has eluded him over the years and warned Ruto never to follow in Raila’s footsteps.
According to Ngunyi, to become the Head of State, being a predictable political figure would play against an aspirant in the long run.
“Ruto is too predictable.”
“He should carry only one lesson from Raila, to become President you cannot be obvious, you cannot be impatient and you cannot feel entitled," said Ngunyi.
Mutahi Ngunyi also warned Ruto against breaking away from President Uhuru Kenyatta and running for President on his own in 2022 because there he will fail automatically.
“No vice President has ever become President by selling himself as a self-made politician.”
“And this is because whenever you look at a self-made politician, you are starring the horrors of unskilled labour,” he said.
