Details about yesterday crisis meeting convened by Rift valley MPs

Members of Rift Valley legislators’ caucus urgently convened a crisis meeting in a Nairobi Hotel to calm raging storms ignited by Senate Majority Leader, Kipchumba Murkomen's sentiments over Mau Forest evictions.
The legislators met at Deputy President William Ruto's Weston Hotel yesterday evening to iron out issues surrounding Mau Forest evictions and the 2022 succession politics which have threatened to split Jubilee Party right in the middle.
Speaking during an interview, Cherangany MP, Joshua Kuttuny, dismissed Murkomen's initial hint that they had convened for a routine monthly meeting having met barely a month after the June 27 one.
"We had an urgent meeting to address urgent matters.”
“There have been real raging storms and exchanges among ourselves over the Mau Forest issue.”
“Some of us have not been reacting because we know we are in Government and we wanted to get to a consensus over this matter," Kuttuny said.
"The two are our party leaders and we convened to know who was evicting the people who voted for them.”
“The eviction was brutal and inhumane but we needed to approach this soberly without severing ties as key components of Jubilee Government," he explained.
