Mombasa Governor Ali hassan Joho has hinted in forming a formidable force with baringo senator Gideon Moi to counter Deputy president William Ruto fast rising popularity in coastal region.
Joho dismissed Ruto frequent visits to the coastal region saying it will not yield fruits come 2022.
There has been concerns that Joho is losing grip of the coastal region and that Rutos popularity in the region was rising steadily.
Most ODM mps led by Aisha Juma have crossed over to team Ruto camp.
Governor kingi a close ally of Joho has also hinted joining hands with Ruto to form a formidable party.
Mombasa Governor Ali hassan Joho has said that the only way to defeat Ruto is joining hands with his opponents ahead of 2022.
Ruto main opponent Gideon Moi held talks with Joho recently on if they will work together ahead of 2022.
