confirmed: Likely faces from Raila side who will feature in cabinet

Details have emerged of the potential faces that are likely to feature should President Uhuru enyatta go ahead with a cabinet reshuffle that is reported to be in the offing.

According to the Sunday Standard well-placed sources divulged that Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his Amani National Congress (ANC) counterpart Musalia Mudavadi are likely to make a comeback in the cabinet.

The two NASA principals served in the grand coalition government of crafted after the 2007-2008 post-election violence that saw Kalonzo serve as Vice President and Mudavadi become Deputy Prime minister.

Raila met President Kenyatta last week and the two leaders discussed matters of “national interest” with speculations rife that the two may have discussed a cabinet reshuffle to speed up national unity and build an all-inclusive government » with regional representation in the cabinet.
The paper further reported that under the arrangement, Odinga is expected to get four cabinet slots, leaving 17 to be shared between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
The clearest indication of a cabinet reshuffle was given by NASA boss Raila Odinga on Tuesday when he promised a team of 17 legislators that he would ensure that the region is not left out of government as part of the Building Bridges Initiative.
Among the factors that are likely to determine who is kicked out and who stays in the cabinet are poor performance, regional balance in national representation and political responsibility for corruption scandals unearthed in different ministries.
