Ruto and Kalonzo musyoka today shared a podium in machakos county.
Ruto joined other leaders in the installation of Bishop Norman King’oo as the new Catholic Church Bishop for Machakos Diocese.
Also present in the meeting were machakos Governor alfred Mutua, makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana and wavinya ndeti.
When Ruto spoke he said that time of politics is over and it's time for like-minded leaders to work together.
He also praised the handshake between Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila odinga.
He also talked about the church ,with the following statement about role of church in the society.
"The Church ministers peace, unity, cohesion, love and forgiveness. May we find joy in the service of God and humanity."
"The Church is a key partner in the management and running of national affairs.It plays a key role in integrating society; its voice carries weight and respect; and is a valued arbiter."
On his part Kalonzo musyoka said that he embraces the handshake but it does not mean that the opposition has joined government.
He said that the opposition is still strong in its cause
