The late Kibra MP Ken Okoth's secret lover, Anne Thumbi, on Thursday, made three demands before approving his burial.
According to a report by Business Daily, Thumbi demands that Ken's family pays her a lump sum of her son's school fees which translates to not less than 10 million and that she be supplied with DNA results.
Thumbi, who made the application on behalf of her son, is also demanding that her son and herself be included in Okoth's burial plans.
Earlier that day, the nominated MCA obtained a court order barring Okoth's mother, Angelina Okoth, and his wife, Monica Okoth, from proceeding with the burial plans.
Nominated Nairobi MCA Anne Thumbi.
Magistrate Grace Mmasi stopped the two respondents from proceeding with the fallen leader's cremation or burial until Thumbi's application is heard and determined.
“An interim temporary injunction be and is hereby issued restraining the two either by themselves, their servants or agents from conducting the burial, interment, cremation or any other manner whatsoever to dispose of Okoth's remains,” ordered the magistrate.
Thumbi, through her lawyer Elkana Mogaka, accused the family of alienating her from the funeral arrangements.
She wants her son recognised by the family arguing that her academic future remains uncertain.
She also demands that Lee Funeral Home and any other morgues be deterred from releasing the lawmaker's body, until DNA samples are collected in the presence of pathologists from both parties.
Thumbi is expected to serve the respondents before the hearing which is set for August 9, 2019.
