Monica Momanyi, 60, the lady who hosted Deputy President William Ruto on Monday at Matangi, is yet to come to terms with the royal visit.
While organisers had toured the region last week and connected her house with electricity, little did she know that her home would be used for official launching.
In an exclusive interview, Mrs. Momanyi conceded that the DP parted with Sh10,000 in a surprise tour which she says will be used for paying school fee for her children.
"They were connecting the electricity but I never knew that I would host such a guest. It is a big honour for me and I will forever cherish it.
"He gave me Sh10,000 and I will use that to pay school fee for my children. Not only just my family but the neighbours are also happy," she said.
Also from the trip, Mrs. ,Momanyi received an additional Sh2000 from Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose and another Sh5,000 from Nyamira Deputy Governor Amos Nyaribo.
During the event, Ruto issued Sh11 million that will be used for completion of the final phase of the Rural Electrification programme.
