William Ruto today won Gold in a marathon he participated in nyeri.
DP William Ruto participated in the Dr Wahome Gakuru memorial half marathon, He described the former Nyeri Governor as a man of good deeds, kindness, mettle and sacrifice for his people stood out.
The deputy president won Gold after beating other politicians who participated in the race.
Most politicians who participated in the race did not go past 1KM, but the deputy president emerged victories after managing to run the full 10km
Among them were Governors Mutahi Kahiga of Nyeri and Okoth Odado(Migori), and MPs Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu),Rigathi Gachagua (Mathira), Ngunjiri Wambugu (Nyeri Town) and James Gichohi (Tetu).
Ruto ran the full race in 1 hour 6 minutes, which is a great a great achievement.
In total overall race Lydia njeri from muranga won in women side while titus ekiru from nandi won in the men side.
